We are very pleased to announce that commencing on July 1, 2008 the company will have a new partner. Dr. Ian Webb will become President, while Lawrie Savage will direct activities of the firm in his new position as Chairman.

To reflect this change, for international business the firm will henceforth be known as

SAVAGE, WEBB & ASSOCIATES INC.

 Ian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position. His PhD in Risk Management and Insurance is from Georgia State University, an internationally recognized institution for insurance, actuarial science, and risk management. His  academic background and over 10 years of experience working on reorganization of supervisory practices and updating of regulatory frameworks has made him an expert in providing training and technical assistance in enterprise risk management, risk-based supervision, corporate governance, asset-liability management, reserving, and risk-based capital. For the last 9 years he was Director of Research at the International Insurance Foundation, during which time he was seconded to the Inter-American Development Bank for 2 years to help develop its insurance practice. Prior to this he was a financial sector consultant at the World Bank and at the Multilateral Investment Guaranty Agency. He has contributed to projects sponsored by the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, USAID, US Department of Commerce, and over a dozen emerging market government agencies. His project work has resulted in many publications with the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and USAID. At Georgia State University he worked for Professor Harold Skipper, C.V. Starr Chair of International Insurance at Georgia State University. Fluent in English and Spanish, proficient in French, Ian is a citizen of the United States, Peru and the European Union.
